Remember the Corpse Bride

Right now I'm really wishing Corpse Bride would hurry up and come out because I want to watch it. And yes I'm aware that this picture sucks.
This picture is mostly me musing about the folk tale that the movie is based on.

For those of you who aren't famillar with it, it's set in 19th Century Russia and involves a man who is getting ready for marriage, and while on the way to her village spots an oddly shaped stick in the ground that looks like a bony finger. He jokingly puts his fiance's wedding ring on it and says his vows, and to his surprise a love-struck corpse wearing a wedding dress stands up, insists that they are married and demands her marital rights, after all it is her wedding night. (*snort*) He runs to all the priests and stuff who after much deliberation decide that the living cannot marry the dead, and the corpse bride cries and sobs in sadness and falls dead onto the ground, only a pile of skin and bones. The guy's fiance picks her up and buries her somewhere and promises the dead corpse bride that she will live a good married life (for the corpse bride) and have enough kids for both of them etc.

I just thought it's kinda sad. Poor poor Corpse bride.
